Welcome to a new weekly segment of this newsletter I’m calling “Impressive Stuff”. This is stuff I have found throughout the week that I think you will enjoy checking out. Simple as that. I will do my best to give credit where credit is due and link to everything. Some links might even be affiliate links to help me keep creating content for you lovely people. So, click away! 😉
The Dwell App — A Bible listening/reading and meditation app. Listen to the bible in full, or pick from different listening/reading plans. You can also choose what version of the bible, and what kind of voice you want to read to you. It has helped me stay in the word every day, even on those busy days I can’t sit down with my bible.
Martijn Doolaard — This guy bought some land, with two cabins built in 1903, in the Italian Alps. He is renovating the cabins on his YouTube Channel and shares all his work from building out the windows, replacing the roofing, adding solar power, chopping wood, etc. etc. etc — the works. The videos are amazingly peaceful and beautiful and are anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour long. Follow along and live vicariously through him. Oh, and his accent is awesome.
1924.us — This brand is just flat out cool. 1924.us is a faith-founded petite branding agency dedicated to preserving the practices of early 1900's in relevant fields of expertise: photography, branding, writing, design, and archiving. Located in Australia and run by husband and wife Christian and Elle-May Watson.
Znaplink — I’ve had my personal website built on Squarespace for years. I recently moved it to Znaplink. Why? Because my content exists all over the internet, and instead of redundantly re-uploading each piece of content to my website, I figured I just need a page of links to point people in the right direction. Znaplink does that and makes it look nice and professional. A similar option is Linktr.ee which is also a great choice.
What Makes a Man by Ben Rector (feat. Thomas Rhett) — I met Ben Rector a few years back at a show in college. He’s a super nice guy and I like his focus on life as a musical family man. And what better artist to collab with than the country genre equivalent to Ben Rector — Thomas Rhett.
The Pour Over — A headline news newsletter with a Christian perspective. These guys deliver unbiased news to you with thoughtful Christian perspectives written out afterward. It’s been my favorite way to receive news about the world and when those emotions or questions start to pop up when I’m reminded how screwed up this world can be, there is always a heavenly comfort reminder to lift me back up.
The Results From Our Poll — Thank you to everyone who participated in our poll. I think your answers definitely gave me some direction on where to take this newsletter. Don’t worry, nothing is set in stone and we will continue to try out new stuff and keep it interesting. That’s what makes it fun! Thanks again ❤️
Have a great weekend, ya’ll! I’ll see you Tuesday. 👋
