Happy Thursday! Some pretty impressive stuff this week, for sure. I hope you enjoy!
VERO — The great Peter McKinnon recently put out a video talking about how Instagram is messing up the social media game for a lot of creators who have built their followings on the platform. It’s not so much a whining video as a, “here is how it’s affecting me” kind of video. In the video he points out a new(er) social media platform called VERO. I hopped on VERO a few years ago but it was still very new and didn’t have that many users. With people like Peter, as well as others — even bigger names Like director Zack Snyder (Justice League) — joining the platform, VERO is seeing fast growth. The platform boasts no ads, no algorithms, just chronological feeds of posts. That, and there are also tiered levels of follower/friend i.e. Close Friend, Friend, Acquaintance, and Follower. Check it out, and if you do, follow me! @spencerscottpugh.
Every Dollar app — Dave Ramsey’s folks created a budget app that is super simple and easy to use. I’ve tried MANY budgeting apps but something about this one keeps pulling me back. There is a free version and a paid version. Check it out and get your money right!
3-In-One Pitaka Mag EZ Slider Charger — I reviewed this charging solution on my YouTube channel a few months back and have used it every day since. If you have an Apple Watch, iPhone, and AirPods, this charges them all at once with one cable. Oh, and if your phone isn’t done charging, there is a removable battery pack that slides out and sticks on the back of your phone (for MagSafe iPhones) — super handy and my wife steals it sometimes. It’s not cheap, but I think it is worth the price to not need a new charger for a few years.
As It Was - Harry Styles cover by Joseph Solomon — This is just an awesome cover of a fun song. This dude’s tone is awesome. Also, just the whole vibe is great. Maybe check out a playlist of this guy’s stuff while you work, today.
The Sample — This site does two things. If you send out a newsletter to readers (like me 😃) this site allows you to submit your newsletter for a chance to be featured to new readers. As a consumer, you can sign up for this site to send you recommendations for newsletters to follow. I know the last thing we need is more emails, but if you’re looking for interesting content to follow, this one can totally help you find it. It’s kind of like the newsletter version of StumbleUpon in its early days.
I hope you all have a great weekend and I will see you Tuesday. As a sneak peek, I’ll be talking about Libraries — ew? or awesome? See you then ✌️
