Happy Thursday, friends! The results of last week’s poll are in and we’ve got some changes to make. But first, here is some Impressive stuff:
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power — Yes, whether or not you care about it, you know about it. That’s because Amazon spent a whopping ~$750M on the 8-episode first season. So, there is a bit of marketing budget associated with that. I have actually been pleasantly surprised by the series. Especially since I set the bar at “you spent $750M on this thing… it at least better look good”. And the visuals do not disappoint. If you are an Amazon Prime member, you can watch it for “free”. There are three episodes so far with another dropping tomorrow. Enjoy! ⚔️💍
Matt D’Avella — If you know anything about minimalism, you know about Matt D’Avella. He did, after all, create the documentary on Netflix called “Minimalism”. Of all the “minimalists” he is for sure my fave; and he makes really great content that’s not just minimalist-focused. Check it out, you’ll probably end up binge watching for hours.
Live In Raleigh - Mission House (Official 24/7 LiveStream) — Never seen an artist do this before (though I’m sure it’s done on the daily), but Mission House is live-streaming their Live In Raleigh album video 27/4. Makes sense to me — I pretty much have the album playing on repeat all day, every day on my Spotify. Throw it on in the background while you work. Be aware — head bopping and foot tapping may come naturally and often.
Journey from Moleskine — As you well know, I love my Moleskine dotted journals. Something you may not know is that Moleskine makes quite a few apps for digital journalling, planning, drawing, etc. Recently I came across Journey (which I had apparently downloaded before) and I’ve been playing around with it over the last couple of days. It’s pretty much a project/habit/to-do list kinda app that I’m testing out to see if it could fit into my work flow. There is a free trial and then some kind of pay wall. I like the aesthetic (though the intro tutorial is pretty cheesy and ugly) and it has some nice/simple customization features. Test it out for yourself and let me know what you think.
Poll results from last week — I asked you all some questions last week about this newsletter as well as the main one. We got about 6-7 votes per question which you can check out here. I always want to work to make this newsletter better and so I will continue to hold polls for everyone to vote on. Looking at the results, here are the plans moving forward:
This Interesting Stuff newsletter will move to a bi-monthly schedule coming out every other Thursday between 8-9am.
The Main newsletter will stay weekly, landing in your inbox on Tuesday mornings between 8-9 am.
Thanks to everyone who voted! Make sure to take part in future polls to have a say in how this newsletter operates and what kinds of content will be posted in the future.
I hope everyone has a lovely weekend. Thanks for reading and I’ll see you on Tuesday.
P.S. I turn 29 tomorrow. What a cool birthday age 🙄 Here I come, thirties!
